冰島女聲：Sóley

Sóley Stefánsdóttir
看到那一長串有好多莫名符號的姓，
不用懷疑，就是你我都超級迷戀的，
冰島創作型才女─ Sóley。

Sóley從小開始學古典及爵士鋼琴，
建立了她音樂上深厚的底子。
大學是在Icelandic Art Academy主修作曲，
同時Sóley在鋼琴跟吉他兩種樂器都下足了練習的功夫，
再加入她強烈的個人編曲風格，
搭配飄渺空靈般的嗓音和一絲絲的冰島腔，
你說你能不愛她的音樂嗎! 
不可能!

很久沒有新作品的Sóley最近終於有了新歌”Follow Me Down”，

Intro的吉他撥弦鐵定讓你的心懸在半空中不上不下的。

Sóley最讓我著迷的一點是她總是能用簡單的鋼琴旋律緊緊的抓住你的心，

這首Follow Me Down用了古典鋼琴和調整過的爵士鋼琴的琴聲，

高亢與重複的古典鋼琴旋律，

帶你在藍天中翱翔俯瞰現實世界的黑暗。

另一條音色扭曲的琴聲，

則與歌詞相呼應…

Sóley將帶你體驗她內心深處的陰鬱面，

當你慢慢地閉上眼，

你就能在眼底的黑暗看見更深更難以言喻的陰影。

即將在2015年五月推出新專輯的Sóley，

專輯名稱 Ask The Deep 也暗喻了她這次的音樂走向。

Sóley要帶你一起打開潘朵拉的盒子，

帶你一窺她不為人知的另一面，

然後最後在與你一同闔上它。

今年上半年度個人最期待的專輯非Sóley莫屬了，

當然還有一直耳聞要出新輯的Radiohead。

Sóley的第一張專輯《We Sink》也是我播放清單點閱率極高的一張專輯，

其中的 I’ll Drown 完完全全對了我的tone。

Intro的 “chu-ka, chu-ka…” 就像火車鳴笛一般，

帶你進入Sóley的海洋內，

一起悠遊一起沉潛，

一起等待 The Sun is Going Down 的那一天。

又是一個外面陽光殘忍的普照到你無法忽視，

辦公室卻空氣凝重安靜讓人想睡到不行的那種，

好想躺在草原上大睡一覺的天氣的一天......

偶爾工作總是會有這麼一天，

你拼命想找事情做，

但誰知道就是ㄊㄇㄉ沒工作做……

忍不住讓我想起大學生活的快樂時光，

下午即使只有兩個小時沒課，

還是能偷偷地潛進空無一人的教室，

打開冷氣 鎖上門 安安靜靜的不引人注目的睡一覺。

但是辦公室的生態就不允許這種忙裡偷閒了，

「再忙，也要和你喝杯咖啡」這句廣告詞，

根本就是在欺騙你我對工作的幻想罷了……

還是戴起耳機聽音樂最實在

只是要小小聲的聽免得miss掉主管的calling 哈哈

Holiday Mode

換了新環境，
原本覺得應該會來個新氣象，
怎麼知道免疫力突然下降，
身體機能突然一個接一個像敗仗的士兵一樣倒下...
腦中迴盪的念頭就只有一個:「好想去度假喔~」

可能四月吧!
可能五月吧!
可能八月吧!
可能可能的我的青春就一去不赴反了Q
只能來聽一些類假期模式的歌曲來cheer up了!

Monday Blue

Do you ever have the feeling of loss after you had a fantastic experience which you were super satisfied with? You just can’t be happy while thinking of those wonderful times. I do have the loss right now on the so-called blue Monday and it’s so unbearable that I’ve been checking the o’clock every minute. Trust me, I am not kiddin at all.

Sometimes life could be too bored to do anything. Maybe you can’t really understand the nonsense I am talking about now; however, please imagine yourself sitting in a classroom answering quizzes from your teacher. There’s one rule written on the white board which said “ NO LEAVES BEFORE THE BELL RINGS”. At the moment the test just started, I bet you must felt your teacher was too stupid to write this note, because no one’s gonna finish the quizzes so soon and left. Then you answered it and holy shoot, your teacher just gave you the easiest quiz of all time, and you finished everything in only 10 mins. Unconsciously, you prepared to stand up, then you headed up and saw your teacher slightly shook his head. Now you realized how important and cruel the note was. The definition of quiz is that you can’t read anything during the test, or teacher will suspect you cheating on it. Right now, sitting in my tiny office cube, I have exact the same feeling as the student who finished the quiz earlier. Nothing to do, it’s just nothing to do. As if!

Then I tune in to some random radio, then it starts to play the song I wanna share with you guys to cheer you, mostly myself, up!

In a month, it will be our one year anniversary and it's impossible to tell you how much I love and care you. Even though I may not let you know how important you are through words, but music can speak my heart out loud. I love you very much. Thank you for coming into my life.

“I am thinking of you dear”

Afternoon by Youth Lagoon in his album “The Year of Hibernation” is personally one of my fav songs in the category of “songs you should listen to it alone with eyes closed”.

Still remember the very first time listening to “Afternoon”. It’s a quiet evening with soft yellow light on in my tiny bedroom. I clicked on its YouTube link and put headphone on and eyes closed. To be honest, I am not a fan of it haha. Every instrument in this song seems to be played and stomped all alone in the beginning part. However, the warm and peaceful ambience locks my hearing onto it, and the second time I gradually put each part together.

Right from the beginning, whistled riff with Glockenspiel opens the freshness for the incoming part. With his murmur-ish vocals swiftly float on top in the clouds, drum beats stomps powerfully and keeps the entire instruments into the center.

“Afternoon” is a delicate flower with several out-stretching petals. Power exists and penetrates through those wordless moments right into your heart which hums with the melody unconsciously.
